SBI PO, or State Bank of India Probationary Officer, is a competitive exam held annually for the position of Probationary Officer (PO). The exam is conducted in two phases: a preliminary exam and a main exam. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam are eligible for the main exam. Those who clear both exams are then called for Personal Interview. After clearing all these rounds successfully you will get an appointment of Bank PO. SBI PO Salary

The starting basic pay for a Probationary Officer (PO) at State Bank of India (SBI) is around Rs. 36000 and they will get annual increment of Rs. 1490 to next seven years.

Along with basic pay, PO’s also receive other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Medical and other allowances. The total compensation per annum is typically around 8.20 lacs to 12.50 lacs.

SBI PO Exam Pattern

The State Bank of India (SBI) Probationary Officer (PO) exam typically follows a three-phase selection process:

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

In this phase, candidates must have to solve question papers of 100 marks in 1 hour. The test consist of 3 sections i.e English Language (30 Marks), Numerical ability (35 Marks) & Reasoning Ability (35 Marks). 

Note: Sectional cut-off of preliminary exam has been removed and cut-off or minimum passing marks will be decided by the bank each year depending on the difficulty of the test.

Phase 2: Main Examination

Candidates who cleared the cut-off of Prelims exam will be eligible for SBI PO Mains. The weightage of General Economy/ Banking Awareness has been increased in the Mains Section, and the test will be of 3 hours including Descriptive test, syllabus for SBI PO is same as IBPS PO Exam.

Phase 3: Psychometric Test and GD/Interview

Psychometric Test- Those candidates who are shortlisted for Phase 3 may be subjected to a psychometric test for personality profiling. The test results may be presented to the interview panel to understand about the candidates.

This is the last stage of selection for applicants who have cleared the first two stages of the SBI PO exam. The Group Discussion is of 20 marks while the Interview is of 30 marks.

2. Read the instructions and qualifying criteria before proceeding.

3. Register by providing your personal and contact details, and creating a login ID and password.

4. Login using your ID and password and fill the application form with the required information such as educational qualifications, work experience, and other details.

5. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other required documents as per the specifications mentioned in the form.

6. Pay the application fee as per the category and mode of payment (can be done online using a debit card/credit card/Internet Banking)

7. Submit the application form and print a copy for future reference.
